Grade 6 Science

The Grade 6 students will be continuing to study properties of Air and Flight this month.  They will be having a quiz coming up next week.  The students should have the following information outlined in their notebooks:

·  A set of jot notes based on a Bill Nye Video on Flight
·  A Paper Towel and Water Experiment Outlined – with conclusions about air and water pressure and a definition of pressure
·  A note on Bernoulli’s Principal
·  A paper airplane experiment + graph of their results
·  An experiment called: An Expanding Situation (a balloon on a pop bottle placed in hot and cold water) + a set of questions (pg. 6-7 from their school textbook # 1-6 on pg. 7).
·  A summary note on the Characteristics of Air
·  A note on the Characteristics of Water: outlining an experiment with thermometers
·  A sketch of a labeled thermometer
·  A homework follow up question about thermometers: How does a thermometer work + Answer
