Grade 8 Science

The students had their test this past week and had time to work on their Water Systems assignment.

Grade 7 Science

This week we reviewed material from our Ecosystems unit.  We took up questions that were assigned and discussed the concepts.  The students will have a test on this material next week. 

We will also continue to finish testing our Egg Drop Challenge.  One class has completed this assignment and marks were returned.  The other class will test their devices next week.

Grade 8 Science

This week we reviewed some of the work that was assigned to the students.  There will be a test next week that will cover this.  Students should review their vocabulary list, their water cycle and watershed booklets.

Grade 7 Science

The Grade 7s were away most of the week on their overnight field trip.  We will continue to finish our Egg Drop challenge and we will review concepts from our Ecosystems unit. The students will eventually have a quiz on these concepts.

Grade 8 Science

We have continued to work through our last unit on Water Systems.  The students have been given small assignments were they are getting marked on their completion.  They can expect a quiz on the material covered in these assignments. They have been given their final assignment for the year. 

Grade 7 Science

This week the students 'Egg Drop Challenge' was due.  This included their presentation, individual report and final device for testing.  We have started their presentations and will continue with them and testing their device next week and/or after they are back from their school trip if needed.


They have also started their final unit on Ecosystems.  They should have started a vocabulary list of new terms and answered a series of questions related to them.  There will eventually be a quiz on this material.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students completed some work and questions related to Water Systems.  They were told they would be given marks for this in class work.  One class set up their Experiment and next week the other class will. 

Grade 7 Science

This week the students continued to work on their 'Egg Drop' Assignment.  A final due date will be set next week. Final testing and all components should be completed by next week.


The students also continued to preview their next unit on Ecosystems.  A vocabulary list and a set of questions were assigned. 


At this point almost all students have presented their Trebuchet project and marks have been returned to students.

Grade 8 Science

This week we started their new unit on Water Systems.  We have covered some new terms and have been planning for an experiment in class. There will be a test eventually on these concepts.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students continued to work on their Egg Drop Challenge.  They had to design a team crest, logo and/or slogan.  They should have decided on a final device design and lastly they should have completed some research on the forces they had to take into account that will act on the egg and decide on a trial 'mock' egg they will use for their pre-testing.
