Grade 8 Science

This week the students were given some time to work on their Cell project.  Their Cell model and report were due today.  Their Cell models turned out fantastic!  The students did a great job with this assignment.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students had Scientist in the School for their new unit on Pure Substances and Mixtures.  They had a great overview of the unit.  We created a vocabulary list on some of the new terms for the unit.  One class had their Lunchbox project marks returned.  The other class will receive theirs after the break.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students saw their Marks for their Microscope test.  They will get to take them home once everyone has written it.  They were given time to work on their Cell Project.  There is a Model and Individual written component to the project.  I have not set a due date as of yet.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students had their lunch box and individual report due.  We tested one class of lunch boxes and our results were great!  We will test the other class next week. 


The students will be starting a new unit on Pure Substances and Mixtures next week.  We started a preview of the new vocabulary words in the unit.

Grade 8 Science

This past week the students were given time to review and study for their test and work on some background questions to help with their Cell Model.  They will be working on their Cell project for the next few classes.  They also had their DNA workshop today from Mount Sinai which was a fun and interactive workshop and learning experience for them.

Grade 7 Science

The students continued to work on their Lunch box project.  They also had a Report check in.  Both the Lunchbox and the Report are due next week Wednesday.
