Grade 8 Science

They students were able to take home their Density test and were asked to get them signed and returned. One class conducted an experiment on Density and next week the other class will do the same.  Both classes will have follow up questions to answer which will take us into Buoyancy, Archimede's Principle and Pressure concepts.

Grade 7 Science

Students handed in their Lab reports.  They received their Heat and Temperature test mark and they will be able to take them home next week to get signed.  They had Scientist in the School the past week which was filled with many different hands on concepts that covered Heat Transfer concepts from this unit. Next, we will be covering Changes in State.

Grade 6 Science

Students received their second test on Electricity and were asked to get it signed and returned.  They started looking at the different forms of renewable and nonrenewable forms of electricity.  They should have received a hand out and answered follow up questions.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students practiced calculating density.  They will be conducting a lab on density next week and can expect a test coming up shortly after.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students conducted their Temperature and Forensics Lab.  It is a formal lab write up.  The students should have all the notes to allow them to write a proper lab report and connect the concepts to our unit of study.  They can expect a test coming up shortly on all the concepts we have covered to date on the Heat and Temperature.

Grade 6 Science

This week the students practiced making circuits and drawing the circuits by correct symbols.  Next, they will learn how a battery acts as the power source.  They will have a short quiz cover: circuits, drawing circuits and the battery.

Grade 8 Science

The students conducted their lab on viscosity and flow rate.  They answered follow up questions which we took up.  Next, they will be learn about density concepts and they can expect a test coming up covering all the concepts to date.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students made their home-made thermometers and tested them.  We discussed their results and described how a thermometer works.  Next week, they will be working on a lab, which will be a formal write up.

Grade 6 Science

Students received their Electricity quiz and were asked to get them signed.  The students practiced making series and parallel circuits for the remainder of the week.
