Grade 8 Science

The students were given back their Mechanical Systems test.  We finally had a chance to start testing their car performance.


Next week we will be starting their last unit on Water Systems next week.

Grade 7 Science

Today the students had a presentation followed by a balancing centre of gravity activity by an organization called Pueblo Science.  The students were engaged and had a great challenging activity! 


This past week the students have been working on their Egg Drop Challenge.  They should have come up with their team name, logo and device design.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students wrote their Mechanical Systems test.  There are a few students that will still need to write it next week.  Hopefully once everyone has had a chance to write it, I'll be able to get them back by the end of next week. We will begin our last unit of study on Water Systems after the long weekend.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students wrote their Structures test.  One class was able to see their mark.  Once everyone has had an opportunity to write it, I will be able to give them back next week to be taken home and signed.

We are continuing with our Structures unit and the students were introduce to their latest task.  It will be an Egg Drop challenge.  The assignment details have been given out in class.

Next week we will also be fortunate to have an organization called Pueblo Science come to our school and present some fun filled hands on activities for the Grade 7s!

Grade 8 Science

This week the students had Scientist in the School.  It was a great workshop and covered a lot of new concepts in their last unit of study on Water Systems.


Next week the students have their unit test on Mechanical Systems.  They were given review questions to help prepare for this test.  It will include the following: levers, types of energy, MA, IMA and ME calculations.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students were given time to review and study for their test.  They wrote their Structures test and have begun presenting their Trebuchets individually to me.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students had their Car project due. We will review a few new concepts and set a test date soon for this unit.  Next week they will have Scientist in the School to introduce their last unit on Water Systems.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students were given some review questions from the textbook to prepare for their test coming up.  I haven't set a firm date as we are in the middle of testing their Trebuchets.  The test date will most likely be late next week. 


The students have had great results and success with their Trebuchets.  Great work!
