Grade 7 Science
Both classes should have received back their Solutions test by now and were asked to get them signed.
We continued to work through our Structures unit covering the following concepts: classification of structures, the centre of gravity, what make structure stable and lastly the forces that act on a structure.
After the break the students will eventually have a test on this material and will be working on a building project.

Grade 8 Science
This week the students were given practice and review questions for their Mechanical Systems test. They wrote their test and we took up the majority of it. They should be able to get them back next week.
Next week they will be starting their Mousetrap Car Design Challenge project.

This week the students wrote their Solutions test. One class was able to see their marks.
Once everyone has written it, I'll be able to return them next week. We completed our unit on Pure Substances and Mixtures by looking at methods to separate mixtures/solutions.
We will be starting a new unit on Structures next week.
