Grade 8 Science

The students were given their Water Systems project last week.  They should have divided up the work and will be given next week to work on the project.  They can expect presentations to begin the following week.

Grade 7 Science

Today the students Food web assignment was due.  The students can expect a small quiz coming up late next week on the vocabulary words we have discussed in this unit.


I started handing back their Structures Project marks.  The rest will be handed back next week. 

Grade 6 Science

The students were given time to work on their Biodiversity Board Games.  They will be due next week.  A specific date will be given out in class.

Grade 8 Science

The students were given back their Mechanical Systems test and were asked to get it signed.  One class also received their Car Project marks.  They were also given their groups for the final Water Systems project.  This is an assignment area that can help raise their marks.  They should each have their own individual contribution to make to the project.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students continued to work on their Food Web assignment.  It will be due next week.  A specific day will be announced next week. They can expect a quiz coming up on the material we have covered to date.

Grade 6 Science

The students were able to take their Biodiversity test home and were asked to get it signed.


They continued to work on their Biodiversity Board Game projects.  A final due date will be assigned once I've had a chance to check in with each group.

Grade 8 Science

This week the students wrote their Mechanical Systems test and started their last unit on Water Systems.  They had a Scientist in the school workshop on this topic earlier last month.  The students had a set of questions they needed to answer and hand in.  There will be a small project related to this unit to finish the year.

Grade 7 Science

This week the students continued to review some terms related to Ecosystems; specifically the different roles found in an ecosystem.  They were given an assignment where they will construct food webs and answer specific questions.  They will be working on this assignment for the next few classes. 


They can expect a small test on all the terms and concepts we have covered to date at some point later this month.

Grade 6 Science

The students were able to see their test marks on their Biodiversity test.  Not everyone has written it.  As soon as I have everyone I will be able to send them home to be signed.


The rest of the week the students spent time planning their Biodiversity Board Games.  They should be at the point where they are bringing in materials to start constructing it.

Grade 8 Science

This week we finished Car testing.  The rest of the week the students were given time to prepare and practice questions for their test on Monday.

Grade 7 Science

This week we started our new unit on Ecosystems.  The students started to preview some of the new vocabulary for the unit and were assigned some questions.

Grade 6 Science

This week the students wrote their quiz on the Classification of Living things.  They were also given time to sort out their groups for their Biodiversity Game project and will begin planning, designing and constructing next week.
