Grade 7 Science

The students continued to work on building their ‘Lunchbox’. Their goal next week should be to have their box well insulated so that when they come back after the break they will only need a few classes for finishing touches on their box.  If they feel they are behind, they can come in at lunch to work on their project.  Their written portion will be due after the break.

I have gone over this with 7B, but I still need to review this with 7A next week: To help them with choosing materials and answering the questions in the report, they have been asked to read page 106 on Controlling Heat Transfer.  Based on page 106: They were asked to answer the following questions: What are good insulators? What is a vacuum?  Why is a vacuum important in controlling heat transfer? (They will need to do additional research).  They were also assigned the following work to complete and hand in for homework (7A will complete this next week):
Read pages 100-101, # 1-2, 5
Read pages 102-103, #1-3
Read pages 104-105, #1-2
