Grade 6 Science

Almost all students have finished presenting their Electricity Project and all have been marked.  If they haven't received their mark they will get them back after the break.  The students should have finished a Flight timeline, that we will be discussing after the break.

The Science Fair will be taking place after the New Year.  The students all know their due date for this.

Grade 8 Science

This past week in Science, the students had time to prepare for their test.  We also wrapped up the unit and will be starting to look at a new unit before the break.

Grade 7 Science

Students have started a new unit called Pure Substance and Mixtures.  They have worked on a vocabulary list as an introduction to some of the terms they will be learning in more detail.

Grade 6 Science

We are almost done with the Electricity Project.  Students have been receiving their marks as we have been going along.  I believe each class has only a few more students to present.  In this time, students have been working on their Flight event time lines.  They were also given time to work on their Science Fair projects this week.

Grade 8 Science

This past week we took up a number of homework and in class assignments (students are responsible to hand these in after their test).  The students have a test on Wednesday that will cover Density, Buoyancy and Pressure.  They were given some more review and practice questions to prepare for this test.

Grade 7 Science

This week we wrapped up our discussions on Heat Transfer.  We took up their lab discussion questions on Heating Curves and Changes of States as well as looked at Radiation, Conduction and Convection.  The students wrote a test to assess their understanding of this material we have covered.

Science Fair - students should be starting to analyze their data collection or testing their prototypes and starting to think about making their conclusions.  Their display boards should have been picked up by now and home for the students to start working on their displays.

Grade 6 Science

This week the students have continued to present their Electricity Project to me and have started a new unit on Flight.  They are creating time lines and highlighting significant events to Flight.  They were asked to make a small picture and summary of each event they read about.

Science Fair - students should be starting to analyze their data collection or testing their prototypes and starting to think about making their conclusions.  Their display boards should have been picked up by now and home for the students to start working on their displays.
