Grade 8 Science

The grade 8’s have finished their Hydraulic and Pneumatic project and tested their devices with much success!  They will have received their Mechanical Efficiency test marks this week.  We have or will begin a new unit on Cells.  The students will be learning the parts of a microscope and how to use it.

Grade 7 Science

The grade 7’s have finished up their Pure Substance and Mixtures unit.  They will receive their last test marks in this unit this week.  We will be beginning a new unit on Strength and Stability.  Students have been asked to bring in newspaper this week.

Grade 6 Science

The students are continuing to work on their Electricity Design house projects.  Due dates will be given out in class.

Grade 8 Science

Students were asked to get their Mechanical Advantage test signed.  They are continuing to work on building their Hydraulic and Pneumatic Devices and should be ready to test soon.  The students will continue to learn about Mechanical Efficiency, Forces, and Friction.

Grade 7 Science

Students have submitted their Paper Chromatography Lab.  They are learning about how solutions form and they will be conducting a lab investigating various factors that affect the rate of dissolving in a solution.

Grade 6 Science

Students have received their Electricity Design Project.  Please review the project outline and the required criteria for students.  They will be required to bring in a 9 volt battery and a cardboard box.  They will be starting to work on the project this week.  They were asked to get their Electricity test signed as well.

Grade 8 Science

All grade 8's should have written their Mechanical Advantage test this week.  They will be continuing to work on completing their Hydraulic and Pneumatic project this week.  Will we be covering more theory related to Forces and Mechanical Efficiency in the next week or two and they can expect a quiz on this material as well.
