Students are continuing to study heat in the environment. They have been given a quiz on the particle theory of matter and will receive those back this week. They have learned how to use a thermometer and the parts of a thermometer. They have studied the scientific definitions of both heat and temperature and conducted various investigations related to these concepts.
To date students should have the following additional material in their notebooks:
- A sketch of a thermometer/labeled
- Questions/Answers related to the particle theory
- A chart outlining the affect of heat on particles
- Questions related to changes of state
- An organizer with the changes of state related to heat
- A diagram of a heating curve
