The Grade 7’s have received their final ‘Heat’ assignment entitled, ‘Re-Design the Lunch Box’. A copy of the assignment and rubric has been provided to the students. They have been working on their designs for the project and creating a blue print of their design. They will be building the lunchboxes in class and they will need to decide on the materials used to insulate their lunchboxes based on their knowledge of heat transfer. Students will learn how to use the necessary equipment for construction of this project; the wood will be supplied for students to construct the frame. Students will need to conduct additional research on insulators and conductors in order to complete this assignment. Any additional materials they choose to decide to insulate their box must be provided by them.
